When we hear “the 10/40 Window,” we usually think of the Middle East or North Africa—areas that have not yet been reached by the gospel—but this window is larger than we realize and may be closer than we imagine.
Knowing that, as the body of Christ, we can influence and change the destiny of people within this window is something that should motivate us, because it is the people who do God’s will who can change the world.
On the other side of the world, in the midst of a country that not everyone knows or has even heard of, missionary Rick Johnson has been ministering in Myanmar for 15 years.
There, God has sustained them with provision for a Bible school, a language school, a sewing school, more than 16 hectares of rice fields, and a campus spanning more than two hectares with a three-story building—and more.
Built in the midst of a civil war, a pandemic, and restrictions, God demonstrates that His faithfulness is not bound by our timelines or national borders.
But the gospel isn’t just at work in the most remote places. Just a few hours away, in the heart of Mexico, God is at work. We don’t always think of Mexico as a nation far from God’s Word, but right in its center, the state of Querétaro is better known as the “Circle of Silence.” It’s the place with the fewest Christians on the entire continent.
But silence is no barrier to God, nor to the people who have obediently set out to fulfill His will. Brian and Ana Natalia Butler started a church right in the middle of the “Circle of Silence.” And from the very beginning, God has provided a place to hold services, people who fill the pews every Sunday, and opportunities to impact not only those who attend church but also the children in schools, whom they have been able to reach.
But thanks to all of you who give, pray, and walk with us, we can help and stand alongside Rick Johnson, Brian, and Ana Natalia—whether near or far—so that the Gospel continues to be preached.
